About the Filmmakers

AndersonGold Films is the production company of Kelly Anderson and Tami Gold, both professors in the Department of Film & Media Studies at Hunter College (CUNY). Their production work includes OUT AT WORK: Lesbians and Gay Men on the Job, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was remade for broadcast on HBO

MAKING A KILLING and OVERCOMING THE ODDS, two documentaries about the tobacco industry's efforts to build their customer base by targeting children around the world; ANOTHER BROTHER, a documentary portraitof an African-American Vietnam veteran.

JUGGLING GENDER: Politics, Sex and Identity; LOOKING FOR A SPACE: Lesbians and Gay Men in Cuba; SIGNED, SEALED, and DELIVERED: Labor Struggle in the Post Office; LOOKING FOR LOVE: Teenage Mothers; and the dramas SHIFT (ITVS) and EMILY AND GITTA (AFI).

Their most recent documentary is EVERY MOTHER'S SON, about three mothers in New York City whose children have been killed by police and who transform their grief into an opportunity for profound social change. Their work has been nationally broadcast on PBS and has screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, the New York Film Festival and has won many awards throughout the world. Through their films and supporting web sites, AndersonGold Films seeks to broaden and deepen discussion and awareness about the critical issues affecting diverse communities throughout the world.
